Everwell Planning helps you organize what your loved ones shouldn't have to figure out on their own, so they can grieve without the weight of not knowing.
"The greatest gift you can give your family is a plan that speaks for you."Nina Alvarado · Everwell Planning
We plan weddings, birthdays, and vacations in detail. But almost no one plans for death, and the people they leave behind carry that weight alone. Without a clear plan, even the most loving families face confusion, conflict, and impossible decisions during already devastating moments.
A clear record so nothing important is left unknown.
When the hard conversations are done, you feel lighter. This is one of the most loving things you can do.
These are not rare stories. They happen every day to people who simply never got around to it.
After 10 years together, no Will and no legal protections. When he died suddenly, his parents made every decision: the funeral, the burial, all of it. She had no legal standing, no matter how much he loved her.
He never updated his retirement account after a breakup. His ex received the full balance. A Will cannot override a Beneficiary Designation. That one forgotten form changed everything.
She was in a car accident and on life support. Her family sat in the waiting room for hours. Without a Healthcare Directive, no one had legal authority to make decisions about her care. The hospital had no choice but to follow protocol.
No Succession Plan meant the business froze almost immediately. Employees went unpaid, contracts lapsed, and clients moved on. All while her family was trying to plan a funeral.
He had been estranged from his parents for years. No Will, no designated contacts. When he passed, they stepped in legally and made every call: the arrangements, the estate, everything.
He owned a small business but never created a Succession Plan or added her legally. When he died, she had no legal authority to run it, sign contracts, or access business accounts even though they had built it together.
Years of photos, important documents, money sitting in digital accounts. No one knew how to access any of it. Without the right information, so much of what he left behind simply disappeared.
Both parents passed away with no Will naming a Guardian. The court stepped in and made that choice for them. It could be someone they would never have chosen.
Her family spent thousands on arrangements they later found out she wouldn't have wanted. No documentation, no conversation, no clarity.

The conversations we avoid the longest are often the ones that matter most.Nina Alvarado · Everwell Planning
In 2018, our family lost my uncle suddenly. He was the funny, warm-hearted uncle everyone loved. He left behind his wife, his sons, and a classroom full of students. One of eight siblings in our big, close family, his loss left a hole that could not be filled. No one saw it coming. The grief was overwhelming, and so was everything that came with it. The weight fell on the people who loved him most. In the middle of it all, one of my other uncles messaged the whole family and asked us to plan ahead, because what they were living through was hard enough without the added weight of not knowing what he would have wanted.
That moment never left me.
Years later, I watched someone I love go through the same thing when he lost his brother suddenly at 43, with nothing in place. I watched him grieve while simultaneously trying to figure out finances, belongings, wishes, and decisions no one should have to make in that state.
Two losses. Two families. The same confusion, the same heartbreak. A burden that didn't have to be so heavy.
I created Everwell Planning so your family has what they need when it matters most.
